Sweets points out how thick a horse's thighs are in her picture book and says, "I don't like how fat they drew their legs."
"That's not fat, Sweets, that's muscle. It's how horses run so fast"
"Are they like that for real?"
"Yup!" I pause to look up some photos of running horses. I find a great one in a full gallop. "See?"
"Oooh. So it's muscle?"
"Yup!"
"And they run a lot?"
"Yup!"
She gets that contemplative look she gets when thinking through a puzzle, "I don't think I'm going to like your legs when they get that big. Maybe don't do that many steps."
